This 67sq metre apartment is set within the grounds of Petradou, which is home to Anna and Stratis who live there permanently. There are other apartments owned by English people so it is a small and quiet environment set in the shadow of the Psilitoris range of mountains. The views are breathtaking.
Petradou is a safe and secure self contained community with only one entrance which is kept locked and you can be sure that when you leave your apartment all will be secure. The grounds contain olive trees, oranges and lemons and you are free to wander the grounds as an owner and enjoy its unique atmosphere. There are only three other apartments which are owned by English people and who use theirs for holidays although you can happily make your apartment your permanent home if you wish.
If you are looking for a quiet haven to write or paint or simply BE, you will not be disappointed.
The apartment has its own electricity and water and an immersion heater supplies hot water. There is a wood burning stove for cooler evenings and the lower bedroom is cool in summer. It has a modern bathroom and shower. There is a raised area above the living space which can be used either as a work place or second bedroom.
Petradou sits within the boundaries of Krasounas, itself a heritage village where the kafenion will welcome you in the Cretan manner. The villagers are very friendly and if you need a plumber or electrician, they will sort you out.
Down the road is Houmerie where you will find a taverna and shop whilst 2km further down is Perama, a bustling market town which will serve all your needs including banks, post office garages and a24hr health centre.
On the coast 15mins away is Panormo, a sleepy sedate resort with two beaches, excellent eating and a relaxed ambience with a distinct lack of discos. Bali is 20 minutes away and is more lively but still retains its original charm and friendliness. Rethymnon a major town of Crete, and famous for its arts and crafts is 25k along the main highway.
